La Plata, Argentina. November 22-26

The international symposium "Early man in America" was held for the first time in Mexico City during August 2002. After that event, the meeting has taken place every two years, since it has attracted great interest among distinguished researchers and specialists in the topic of the peopling of America. The original exhibitions from the entire American continent and the field rips to the Mexican sites in order to stimulate discussions in situ among the participants have contributed to the symposium success, reflected in the consecutive publications of 2004, 2006 and 2008 (Mexico). The symposium will be celebrated once again, this time in the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Museum, at La Plata University, Argentina. The Archaeology Division of La Plata Museum, on behalf of the Organizing Committee of Mexico, the Liaison Committee and the Organizing Committee of Argentina, invites you to participate in the V International Symposium “Early man in America: a hundred years since the Ameghino-Hrdlicka debate (1910-2010)”. This meeting will be held in La Plata City, Argentina, in November 22 - 26, 2010. The symposium will consider different types of activities such as invited lectures, oral communications and posters, in order to generate a wide discussion of the most substantial topics related to the American Peopling, which are of very special interest in the contemporaneous archaeological and anthropological research.
